Sustainability at Verona Design House

Designed to last. Thoughtfully crafted. Improved step by step.

For us, sustainability means, above all, creating glass products that are not designed to follow a short-lived trend. Our pieces are intended to bring lasting joy, to blend naturally into a variety of living spaces, and to retain their place even after many years.

The glass used in our products is hand-blown in Europe. The individual components are then assembled by hand. Minor variations in colour, finish and shape are not flaws, but rather a reflection of the manufacturing process, making each glass piece unique.

Durability as a starting point

We regard a long service life as an essential component of responsible design. Glass is a durable material that, when treated with care, will last for many years.

Even with functional components, we take care to use tried-and-tested and replaceable solutions wherever possible. This ensures that our products do not need to be replaced entirely unnecessarily should individual requirements change or a component reach the end of its service life.

European manufacturing

Our glass products are crafted in European workshops. The glass is hand-blown there and then assembled by hand with the relevant components to form a finished product.

This manufacturing process allows for close coordination with the workshops involved and supports our high standards in terms of design, craftsmanship and quality. Subtle nuances and slight variations are part of the character of hand-blown glass and make each piece unique.

Packaging and Dispatch

Glass requires reliable protection during transport. That is why safe dispatch is our top priority. At the same time, we take care to use only as much packaging material as is necessary to protect the product in question.

We do not regard our packaging and dispatch processes as finalised. We are constantly reviewing how we can reduce unnecessary components, use materials more sensibly and further improve our processes.

An ongoing commitment

For us, sustainability is neither a blanket marketing claim nor a goal that has already been achieved. It is an ongoing commitment that we apply to our products and decisions.

With every new development, we aim to design more consciously, prioritise durable solutions and improve our processes step by step. In doing so, we prefer to communicate honestly about what we are already doing, rather than making promises that go beyond our current capabilities.
